I have yet to have a blog contest. I really wish I thought I had something spectacular enough for all of you to wish you had...maybe I'll have to have a contest for the Christmas Ornaments I am making. That IS just around the corner you know. Christmas, that is.
I am entering a contest though. An amazing contest that I think any of you should also apply for.
It's for a house. Here in Edmonton.
Hold On...don't stop reading because you live in the U.S.
This contest is open to all of you as well, in fact there have been applications from the U.S. already!
Here is the LINK to see the contest.
This man has rescued a 100 year old house from probable demolition. He has gutted it, and completely renovated it, inside and out and is now looking to give it away. He and his wife (and probably a committee of some kind) are planning on reviewing up to 40, 000 applications to decide who should win the house. Check it out!
What an amazing chance. For only $11 you can enter this contest too!

That house is in a really scary neighbourhood. But for $11, it's something that could resell nicely. I wouldn't live in it, though. Not in that location.
Of course, if you buy it for $11 and then resell it, you'll get hit pretty hard with capital gains tax. But you'll still end up ahead. So ... why not?
Good luck!
The neighbourhood around there is actually improving quite a bit...I know, I know, when the government has to poor money into an individual community ot doesn't usually mean great things but it starts with one family at a time, right. We can be one of those families. We've been around some pretty tough people in our life journey, I think we would love it.
I looked up Edmonton on Wikipedia. It gets REALLY cold there!
You make me laugh Tricia...Edmonton is one of the more moderate tempered cities in Canada...but if you win the house...I'll take care of it for you!!!
And if not enough people enter the contest they will actually refund everyone's $11.00, right?? Wow! What's eleven bucks so someone could own a house they would never be able to afford.
I was still walking barefoot in my sandals today!
OH my goodness..what a win that would be! Good luck on your entry! :)
