somber thankfulness

so...after reading news articles on the internet all day yesterday I have THANKFULLY discovered that the family who I thought was perished is not MY JACOB's family.

Mennonites have a way of using common names FREQUENTLY in their circles and news reporters don't know to include the same 'distinguishing' tags on to the family description. If I still would have been living in the area people would make sure to describe this Rempel family as the 'so and so' Rempels. All of the first names are the same as the ones I knew...even the ages...but they are in fact a different Rempel family.

I am still hoping you will join me in praying for the Rempel family who HAVE lost loved ones this week...so close to Christmas.

The news is still tragic and even though we don't know them, we'll pray. That they are a different family of Rempels with the same names and ages, is definitely an interesting thing.

Did you notice the comments in the article you linked, Evi? Some of them were just terrible! I was floored. The negative, unfortunately, always stick out. Most were supportive and kind, thankfully, though!

He has spared you sorrow upon sorrow...but what love you have in your heart to pray for strangers. Those prayers, I'm sure the angels treasure even more.
